I love chairs. There is something quite beautiful in such a simple design for something incredibly practical. Interiors are a general passion, so meeting Jay and Jade who founded the inspiring charity Out Of The Dark , blew me away. Not only does the charity support young people to achieve a better life and help them focus on something positive and away from crime, it teaches them new life skills within a reputable industry. The charity also uses 100% junk shop/skip/donation finds, up-cycling furniture for top retailers – Heals and Sainsburys to name just two.
So I chose this little beaut to re-upholster – I’m currently working on an interiors project at the end of the garden, and think this would look fabulous in a green velvet – looking forward to the reveal!
I have a huge amount of respect for Jade and Jay, who created such an incredible charity and wish them all the luck in the Universe to make Out Of The Dark even more of a huge success…
I saw their link on your Instagram last week and checked out the website. The things they produce are amazing. I’m kinda glad they aren’t just around the corner or I may well spend every penny I have buying up furniture. It’s such a brill idea.
p.s. Love your illustration and the quote! You’re very talented hun. x
